شراكة استراتيجية بين Smartenergy و Q8 Aviation عبر اتفاقية توريد طويلة الأجل لدعم إنتاج وقود الطيران المستدام

أعلنت Smartenergy، الشركة السويسرية الرائدة في الاستثمار في قطاع الطاقة المتجددة، توقيع اتفاقية شراكة إستراتيجية مع شركة البترول الكويتية العالمية لوقود الطيران المحدودة (Q8 Aviation)، الذراع الدولية لقطاع وقود الطيران التابعة لشركة البترول الكويتية العالمية (KPI) ، إحدى أكبر شركات الطاقة المتكاملة في العالم. وبموجب الاتفاقية، ستقوم شركة «Q8 Aviation كيو ايت للطيران» بشراء وقود الطيران المستدام المعزز بالكهرباء (eSAF) من شركة Smartenergy، في خطوة تعكس التزامها بدعم التحول نحو مستقبل أكثر استدامة لقطاع الطيران العالمي.
وتتيح هذه الاتفاقية لشركة « Q8 Aviation » تأمين حصة كبيرة من مجمل إنتاج Smartenergy المستقبلي من وقود الطيران المستدام، بما يلبّي احتياجات عملائها ويدعم امتثالها لشروط الاتحاد الأوروبي الخاصة بمبادرة ReFuelEU Aviation والشروط البريطانية الخاصة بوقود الطيران المستدام، في الوقت الذي تعزز فيه دورها الريادي في خفض انبعاثات الطيران.
تأتي هذه الشراكة استجابةً للطلب المتسارع عالميًا على وقود الطيران المستدام، في ظل مساعي شركات الطيران والهيئات التنظيمية إلى تحقيق أهداف الحياد الكربوني في واحد من أسرع قطاعات النقل نموًا وأعلاها كثافة في الانبعاثات الكربونية. ويُعد وقود الطيران المستدام الخيار الأكثر فعالية لخفض الانبعاثات حين يتم إنتاجه باستخدام الهيدروجين الأخضر المُستخرج من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة وثاني أكسيد الكربون الحيوي، مع إمكانية استخدامه مباشرة في محركات الطائرات والبنية الأساسية الحالية دون الحاجة إلى أي تعديل، ويحقق خفضًا يتجاوز 90% في انبعاثات الغازات الدفيئة على مدار دورة الحياة مقارنة بوقود الطائرات التقليدي. ورغم أن إنتاج وقود الطيران المستدام لا يزال في مراحله الأولى، إلا أنه من المتوقع أن يؤدي دورًا محوريًا في تحقيق أهداف توجيه الاتحاد الأوروبي الخاص بالطاقة المتجددة، وكذلك أهداف المملكة المتحدة لوقود الطيران المستدام، والتي تضع معايير طموحة لإزالة الكربون من قطاع الطيران. ومن خلال الجمع بين ريادة شركة Smartenergy في مجال الطاقة المتجددة وإنتاج الوقود الاصطناعي المستدام والحضور التشغيلي الواسع لـ شركة « Q8 Aviation »، تهدف هذه الشراكة إلى سد الفجوة المتنامية في إمدادات الوقود المستدام وتلبية الطلب المتزايد عليه عالميًا.
وفي تعليقه على توقيع الاتفاقية، قال هورست محمودي، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة Smartenergy Group AG: ” تمثل هذه الشراكة التزامًا إستراتيجيًا لكلا الشركتين بإعادة صياغة مستقبل قطاع الطيران العالمي فضلاً عن كونها اتفاقية تجاريّة، ومستدام على مستقبل قطاع وقود الطيران.”
ستتمحور الشراكة مبدئيًا حول مشروعين رئيسين لإنتاج وقود الطيران المستدام لشركة Smartenergy في البرتغال، وهما مشروع “جاليليو” (Galileu) ومشروع “ليسا” (Leça)، اللذان من المتوقع أن يساهما بشكل كبير في تحقيق أهداف الاتحاد الأوروبي لعام 2030 المتعلقة بوقود الطيران المستدام. ويجري تطوير هذين المشروعين بما يتماشى مع معايير الاتحاد الأوروبي للوقود المتجدد غير-الحيوي (RFNBO) بموجب التوجيه الأوروبي الثالث للطاقـة المتجـددة (EU RED III)، بما يضمن التزام الوقود بأعلى معايير الاستدامة وسهولة التتبع.
ويعكس قرار شركة « Q8 Aviation » بإبرام شراكة طويلة الأمد لشراء وقود الطيران المستدام من Smartenergy ثقتها في التكنولوجيا التي تطورها الشركة ويشهد على قوة الشراكة بين الجانبين. وتتمتع شركة « Q8 Aviation »، بفضل حضورها العالمي الواسع، بقدرةٍ استثنائية على تسريع اعتماد الوقود المستدام من خلال توفير البنية الأساسية والحجم التشغيلي الكفيلين بإيصال وقود الطيران المستدام إلى شركات الطيران العالمية الكبرى.

Smartenergy, a leading Swiss-based renewable energy investment firm, today announced the signing of a landmark strategic partnership with Q8 Aviation, the international aviation energy arm of Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), This agreement establishes Q8 Aviation as a cornerstone long-term offtake partner for Smartenergy’s planned production of synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), marking a pivotal step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for the global aviation sector. Q8 Aviation will purchase electricity-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel (eSAF) from Smartenergy, marking a step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for the global aviation sector.
Under the agreement, Q8 Aviation will secure access to a share of Smartenergy’s future eSAF output to help it meet the needs of its customers and to comply with e-SAF mandate within the REFuelEU Aviation and the UK SAF mandate, while reinforcing its leading role in decarbonizing aviation.
This partnership aligns with the rapidly growing need for sustainable aviation fuels as airlines and regulators push for net-zero emissions targets from aviation, one of the most carbon intensive and fastest growing form of transport. eSAF offers the greatest potential for emissions reduction when produced using green hydrogen from renewable energy and captured biogenic CO₂. eSAF is a drop in fuel that can be seamlessly integrated into existing aircraft and infrastructure, delivering >90% lifecycle greenhouse gas emission reductions compared to conventional jet fuel. The eSAF is currently in its early stages, expected to play a critical role in meeting the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive and the UK SAF mandate, both of which set ambitious decarbonization targets for aviation. By combining Smartenergy’s leadership in renewable energy and e-fuel production with Q8 Aviation’s operational reach, the partnership aims to help close the global supply gap and meet the surging demand for sustainable fuels.

The partnership will initially focus on Smartenergy’s two flagship eSAF projects in Portugal. Project Galileu and Project Leça which together are expected to contribute significantly toward Europe’s 2030 eSAF madante. Both facilities are being developed to comply with the RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) standards under EU RED III guidelines, ensuring that the fuel meets the highest sustainability and traceability benchmarks.
Q8 Aviation’s decision to secure a long-term eSAF offtake from Smartenergy signals a strong vote of confidence in both the technology and the partnership.
