The Al-Enjazat Tourism Team continued its successful journey by organizing its twentieth tour, following a series of free training tours that have exceeded nineteen rounds. This milestone was marked by the launch of a new and unique training program titled “Live the Experience,” delivered by tourism trainer and licensed tour guide Dr. Thamer Al-Mahboub.

This innovative program offered a hands-on, real-life training experience aimed at moving participants from passive learning to practical, on-site performance in front of a foreign tourist, within a fully integrated tour route.

The idea behind the training represented a qualitative shift in tour guide preparation methods, as it relied on live application at the National Museum. Trainees were distributed across specific locations within the museum according to a precise organizational plan, with each trainee assuming a designated position and performing their guiding role as if leading an official tour. Meanwhile, Dr. Thamer accompanied the foreign tourist along the usual tour path, observing each trainee’s performance, evaluating the quality of explanation, communication skills, and ability to deliver information in a professional manner suited to a visitor from a different cultural background.

Throughout the session, the importance of this training became evident in its simulation of real field challenges faced by tour guides. These included welcoming guests, presenting concise introductions to sites, ensuring smooth transitions between stations, managing time effectively, delivering engaging narratives, and interacting with tourist inquiries in ways that enrich the experience and reflect the civilized image of Saudi tourism.
At the conclusion of the training, a moment of appreciation marked the closing session, during which the foreign tourist was thanked for his presence, cooperation, and valuable participation that contributed to the success of the experience. Dr. Thamer expressed his pride in the trainees’ distinguished performance and notable discipline, while the trainees, in turn, extended their gratitude to him for this exceptional initiative that allowed them to experience “true learning” through practice rather than description.
Field organization was carried out with high professionalism by Ms. Al-Anoud Al-Harbi and Mr. Abdulhadi Abu Sulaiman, who oversaw the distribution of positions, regulated the flow of the application, and facilitated trainee movement to ensure smooth execution and training quality. This was supported by continuous follow-up and guidance under the supervision of the Al-Enjazat Team management, reflecting its commitment to quality outcomes and the achievement of program objectives.
The “Live the Experience” training with Dr. Thamer Al-Mahboub proves that shaping a competent tour guide is not achieved through information alone, but through standing in the field and facing real details with confidence and composure. It is an approach that embodies learning as you work, seeing through the tourist’s eyes, and explaining with the spirit of the place—gaining skills that remain with the guide throughout every future tour.
With this advanced step, the Al-Enjazat Tourism Team continues to write a new line in the journey of tourism training—
a line titled: Toward more professional tour guides… and richer tourism experiences.
